MN Grenside

Mark Grenside has been involved in media for over 35 years and in virtually every aspect of it.

In 1979 he started his career working for Jim Henson as a founder member of HIT TV and worked in co‐production and distribution of television shows The Muppet Show,  Fraggle Rock, Jim Henson Presents, Muppet Babies, and feature films The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.

In 1984 he started his own company and was Executive Producer of 72 live half-hour action episodes of Crossbow, The Adventures of William Tell with US Producer Robert Halmi. At the same time he launched the career of recording artist Neneh Cherry. He went on to produce a number of US/ European co‐productions for worldwide broadcast.

When Robert Halmi Productions was bought by Hallmark Cards, he began the International distribution of the Hallmark Channel, securing carriage for the channel in nearly every major market and on every major platform. In 2004 Hallmark decided to refocus its business so he assembled the consortium Sparrowhawk. Backed by 3i and Providence Private Equity, Sparrowhawk bought the library and International Hallmark Channels from Crown Media and Hallmark Cards for US $ 250, 000, 000. The business was subsequently sold three years later to NBC Universal returning to Investors a substantial profit.

In 2010 he formed MNG FILMS and MNG FILMS IRELAND with Parallel Films. Together they financed and produced a substantial slate of movies and mini-series including the double Emmy Award nominated mini- series, Treasure Island with Eddie Izzard, Donald Sutherland and Elijah Wood and Neverland, the origins of Peter Pan with Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins and Charles Dance.

Mark has an investment in a US based digital business, consults for a Los Angeles based feature film company as well as producing, writing and financing projects for television. He is currently involved in a major financing structure for a British Financial Times Top 100 PLC. In 2014, he completed his first novel FALL OUT, a thriller set in the film industry and he is now working on the sequel.

Apart from poking fun at life, Mark enjoys cooking for friends and driving classic cars. However, his friends maintain that although Mark's belief in his cooking ability is justified, the same in  his driving skills is delusional.

He has two grown up sons, three grandchildren and lives in Malta with his wife and two pugs.
