The end is nigh

Why...
Does anyone believe the cinema will survive? Tell me what is wrong with this likely conversation between studio Execs... âSo hey, Covid. Bummer, like, no one is going to the cinemaâ, says the Distribution Gofer. âRight, so letâs pull all the movies that could get people back now and wait till we are sure we can squeeze the maximum return with everyone going back to the theatres in a yearâs timeâ, says the other Exec. âOK, but surely those who donât go to the cinema now will pay us for pay per view instead. Whatâs the point in holding off if we kill the business...â the Gofer replies. âDoh! Why release now when we might miss out on better box office numbers in the future?â, Exec  âYeah, great, I feel you... but in the meantime by not giving any product, wonât the cinema chains go bust... so isnât holding back a year kind of self defeating?â, replies the Gofer. âWhen I want your opinion, I will give it to you!â Honestly, the knuckleheads at the studios are dumber than dog slobber. The patient is dying of starvation so to solve the problem letâs give him no food at all! Of course itâs sheer greed. If they wait six months plus, they hope more people might go back to Cinemas, but itâs a moot point. The movie theatres wonât exist by then!
